Heart pump Patients' blood sugar tests under scrutiny

NCT ID NCT05933161

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether the standard A1C blood sugar test works correctly in people with a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD), a type of heart pump. Researchers will compare A1C results with continuous glucose monitor (CGM) readings over 3 months in 20 adults with type 2 diabetes. The goal is to see if CGMs provide better blood sugar control and help avoid dangerous lows.
