Double down on weight loss: study tests drugs after surgery
NCT ID NCT06132477
Summary
This study aims to find out if patients who continue taking their GLP-1 weight loss and diabetes medications (like Wegovy or Ozempic) after bariatric surgery have better results than those who stop. Researchers will compare weight loss, blood sugar control, and gut health in 150 adults who are randomly assigned to either continue or discontinue their medication after their surgery. The goal is to provide clearer guidance for patients and doctors on the best treatment plan after weight loss surgery.
