New scan could spot brain tumors more clearly

NCT ID NCT03830151

First seen Jan 20, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This early-phase study tests a special imaging agent, hyperpolarized carbon C 13 pyruvate, to see if it helps doctors diagnose glioma, a type of brain tumor, more accurately. About 13 adults with brain tumors will receive the agent before an advanced MRI scan. The goal is to improve tumor detection and understanding, not to treat the disease.
