400 patients tracked for hidden heart and steroid risks in common inflammatory diseases
NCT ID NCT07084480
First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study follows 400 adults with giant cell arteritis or polymyalgia rheumatica to see how often serious aortic problems (like aneurysms) and steroid-related side effects occur over time. Researchers will track these events using medical records and a special steroid toxicity score. The goal is to better understand long-term risks, not to test a new treatment.
