Elderly diabetes care gets a geriatric boost

NCT ID NCT06469437

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving doctors a detailed geriatric assessment (including frailty and overall health) helps them choose safer and more effective diabetes treatments for patients aged 60 and older. About 220 participants will be randomly assigned to usual care or to have their doctor receive the assessment results. The goal is to see if this leads to fewer low blood sugar episodes, falls, infections, and hospital visits over six months.
