Gene test could prevent second strokes in High-Risk patients
NCT ID NCT05763862
First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study looks at whether genetic testing can help doctors pick the right blood thinner for people who have had a stroke or mini-stroke. About 350 patients will be randomly assigned to either standard care or a genetic test that checks if a common drug, clopidogrel, will work for them. The goal is to see if this personalized approach reduces the chance of another stroke or heart problem over the next year.
