Scientists hunt for genetic clues to predict cancer outcomes

NCT ID NCT00339963

Summary

This study aimed to understand why patients with the same type of blood cancer, like lymphoma or leukemia, can have very different outcomes. Researchers analyzed the genes in old tissue samples from 1,340 patients to see if they could find patterns that predict how the disease will behave. The goal was to create more precise diagnostic categories to help guide future treatment decisions.
