New DNA tool aims to spot hidden disease risk in everyday doctor visits
NCT ID NCT06278883
Summary
This study tested a new program called GRACE, designed to help primary care clinics identify patients at high genetic risk for serious diseases like heart disease and cancer. About 750 patients used a website to enter their family health history, which then recommended if they needed genetic counseling or testing. The goal was to see if this system could work well in regular doctor's offices, especially in areas with fewer resources, and make genetic risk screening more accessible to everyone.
