First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tested whether a genicular nerve block (an injection around the knee nerves) can reduce pain and improve daily function in people with chronic knee osteoarthritis. 81 adults aged 45-75 with moderate knee arthritis received either a steroid plus anesthetic, anesthetic alone, or a placebo injection. Researchers measured pain levels and walking ability to see which approach worked best.
