Knee pain relief without surgery? new injection study shows promise

This study tests whether a numbing and anti-inflammatory injection around the knee nerves can reduce pain and improve walking in people with knee arthritis. Thirty adults aged 50 and older with persistent knee pain will receive either the active injection or a placebo (salt water), then follow an exercise program. Researchers will measure pain, walking ability, and knee movement before, one hour after, and one month after the injection to see if the treatment works better than placebo.
