Searching for hidden heart genes in Epilepsy's deadliest mystery
NCT ID NCT02824822
Summary
This study aims to understand if people with epilepsy who are at high risk of sudden death might have an underlying genetic heart condition. Researchers are recruiting 600 adults with epilepsy or their family members to provide DNA samples for genetic testing. The goal is to identify known genetic markers for heart rhythm disorders that could explain why some epilepsy patients die suddenly.
