Scientists probe genetic links to inflammation and disease

NCT ID NCT01143519

Summary

This study aimed to understand how specific variations in certain genes affect how a person's blood cells respond to stress or damage. Researchers collected blood samples from 178 healthy volunteers and some people with HIV to measure cell reactions in a lab. The goal was to gather knowledge about how these gene differences might influence a person's risk for inflammation, cancer, or heart problems.
