New imaging agent aims to spot tumors and track immunotherapy
NCT ID NCT05629689
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This early-phase trial is testing a new imaging agent (GEH200520/GEH200521) that lights up on PET scans to help see solid tumors. In Part A, 50 adults with advanced solid tumors will receive the agent and have scans to check safety and how the agent spreads in the body. Part B will see if the agent can show changes in tumors after immunotherapy. The goal is to find a better way to monitor cancer treatment.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- GEH200520 injection and GEH200521 (18F) injection (imaging agents for PET scans)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could lead to a new way to see tumors on PET scans and track how well immunotherapy is working.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early Phase 1 trial with only 50 people, so safety and effectiveness are not yet proven. The imaging agent may not clearly show tumors or changes after treatment.
