Supercharged immune cells take on tough pancreatic cancer
NCT ID NCT06828328
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Aug 06, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This early-phase trial tests a new therapy called GC203 TIL, which uses a patient's own immune cells that are genetically modified to better attack pancreatic cancer. Ten adults whose cancer has not responded to standard treatments will receive these cells after a short course of chemotherapy. The main goal is to check safety, but researchers will also watch for tumor shrinkage.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- gene-edited tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (GC203 TIL)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could point toward a new treatment option for advanced pancreatic cancer that has not responded to standard therapies.
- What could go wrong
- This is a very early, small trial (10 people) focused on safety, not proof of effectiveness. The treatment involves strong chemotherapy beforehand and may cause serious side effects.
