First seen Jun 17, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 17, 2026
Summary
This study looks at how gastric bypass surgery affects the way the body uses energy, especially in people with obesity and type 2 diabetes. Researchers will collect small intestine samples during surgery and again over the next year to see how the gut's metabolism changes. The goal is to understand why the surgery improves health, which could lead to better treatments. About 46 adults having gastric bypass will take part.
