New scan could spare brain tumor patients unnecessary surgery

NCT ID NCT06444412

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special PET scan using GA-68 PSMA-11 can tell the difference between a brain tumor coming back and harmless changes from past treatment. About 25 adults with aggressive gliomas who already need surgery will get this scan first. If it works, it could help doctors make better decisions without always needing a biopsy.
