New scan may spot brain tumor recurrence without surgery

NCT ID NCT06444412

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a special PET scan using GA-68 PSMA-11 can tell the difference between a returning brain tumor and changes caused by previous treatment. About 25 adults with grade 3 or 4 glioma who are already scheduled for surgery will receive the scan beforehand. If successful, this imaging method could reduce the need for invasive biopsies and help doctors make faster, more accurate treatment decisions.
