First seen Feb 15, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tested a precise type of radiation called fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy (FSRT) in 33 adults with 1 to 4 small brain metastases (each 2 cm or smaller). The goal was to control the tumors while reducing the risk of a side effect called radiation necrosis, where brain tissue is damaged. Participants received several small doses of radiation over multiple sessions. The study measured how well the treatment controlled the tumors and how safe it was.
