New radiation approach shows promise for controlling small brain metastases

NCT ID NCT07405047

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested a precise type of radiation called fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy (FSRT) in 33 adults with 1 to 4 small brain metastases (each 2 cm or smaller). The goal was to see if this approach could control the tumors while avoiding serious side effects like radiation necrosis. Participants received several focused radiation doses over multiple sessions. The results help doctors understand how to better treat limited brain metastases with less damage to healthy brain tissue.
