Free DNA tests offered to 27,500 people to find hidden cancer risk

NCT ID NCT04494945

Summary

This study aims to learn if offering free genetic testing to the general public is a better way to find people with high inherited cancer risk than only testing those with a known family history. Researchers will enroll up to 27,500 adults, collect saliva samples for DNA testing, and provide genetic counseling to those who test positive. The goal is to compare the costs and health benefits of this broad public screening approach against current medical guidelines.
