NCT ID NCT07367854
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at how eating different food combinations after resistance exercise affects muscle protein synthesis. Fifteen healthy, recreationally active adults will do leg exercises and then eat either potato with beef, bread with beef, or beef alone. Researchers will take blood and muscle samples to measure how well the body builds new muscle protein.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Potato and beef, bread and beef, or beef alone
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help refine dietary recommendations for maximizing muscle recovery after exercise.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early-stage study (15 people) in healthy young adults, so results may not apply to other groups or real-world settings.
