Fighting hunger to fight diabetes in HIV patients

Summary
This study aims to understand how not having reliable access to enough food affects the health of people living with HIV, especially their risk for diabetes and heart problems. It will test a support program that uses trained peer guides and mobile phone tools to help participants get better access to food and improve their body's insulin sensitivity. The research involves 200 adults with HIV from a clinic in North Carolina who also struggle with food insecurity.
