Poop pills vs. cancer: could a fecal transplant boost chemo?

NCT ID NCT07509398

First seen Apr 07, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a fecal microbiota transplant (FMT) from a healthy donor to standard chemotherapy can shrink tumors in people with advanced colorectal cancer that cannot be removed by surgery. About 220 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either standard therapy alone or standard therapy plus FMT. The goal is to see if the transplant improves response rates and helps more patients become eligible for surgery.
