Poop transplants tested for ulcerative colitis relief

NCT ID NCT07401680

First seen Feb 15, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study is testing whether fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT), or a 'poop transplant,' can help people with ulcerative colitis achieve remission without steroids. About 85 adults with active disease will receive either FMT or a placebo. The main goal is to see if a larger trial is possible, not to prove the treatment works yet.
