New device aims to suction deadly lung clots

NCT ID NCT05560763

Summary

This study tested a medical device called the FlowTriever2 Catheter that physically removes blood clots from the lungs of patients with acute pulmonary embolism (PE). The procedure was performed on 50 eligible patients who had a recent, serious lung clot but were stable enough for the intervention. Researchers measured whether the device safely and effectively reduced pressure in the lungs immediately after removing the clot.
