NCT ID NCT06401954

First seen Jun 30, 2026 · Last updated Jul 01, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study investigates whether combining high-intensity focused electromagnetic therapy with foot core training can improve foot function in adults with flatfoot (pronated foot). Participants receive either the combined therapy, electromagnetic therapy alone, or a sham treatment plus exercises over six weeks. Researchers measure changes in foot pressure during walking, foot posture, and muscle size and activation.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

high-intensity focused electromagnetic therapy

What this could lead to

If it works, this combination approach could offer a non-surgical way to improve foot function and reduce discomfort in people with flatfoot.

What could go wrong

This is a small early-stage trial with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The therapy is also not a cure and may only provide temporary improvement.
