Which exercise works best for flat feet? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT07576816
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares two types of exercise programs—one focusing on the hips and the other on the knees—to see which better improves foot arch, balance, and muscle strength in adults with flexible flat feet. 46 participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two groups and will exercise for 6 weeks. Both groups also do foot-strengthening exercises. The goal is to find a more effective way to improve foot stability without surgery or devices.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Exercise (hip-based or knee-based exercises with hot pack and foot strengthening)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward a more effective exercise approach for improving foot stability and balance in people with flexible flat feet.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 46 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The exercises are non-invasive, but individual responses may vary.
