First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at whether giving fish oil nutrition before colon surgery helps patients with constipation recover better. About 306 adults will either get fish oil before surgery or only after. Researchers will compare complication rates, recovery, and quality of life. The goal is to find the best timing for this nutritional support.

What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that starting fish oil nutrition before surgery reduces complications and speeds recovery for patients with constipation.
