New hope for ulcerative colitis: korean study tests daily pill to calm flare-ups

NCT ID NCT06964113

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tests a daily pill called filgotinib (200 mg) in about 94 Korean adults with moderate-to-severe ulcerative colitis. The main goal is to see if it can bring the disease into remission (quiet down symptoms) by week 10 or 22. Participants take the pill once a day and are followed for up to 58 weeks. Because ulcerative colitis is a chronic condition, this treatment aims to control the disease long-term, not cure it.
