Fetal surgery may boost survival in babies with severe hernia

Summary

This study looks at a procedure called FETO, which places a balloon in the windpipe of unborn babies with a severe diaphragmatic hernia. The goal is to see if it helps more babies survive to leave the hospital compared to standard care. The study will follow 80 pregnant women and their children for up to 2 years.
