Freezing hope: new program aims to save fertility for young cancer patients

NCT ID NCT06505057

Summary

This study offers ovarian tissue freezing to young female cancer patients (ages 0-35) to preserve their ability to have children later in life. The procedure is designed for patients who need to start cancer treatments like chemotherapy or radiation immediately, as it does not require the waiting time needed for other fertility preservation methods. The research aims to make this service more available locally and track pregnancy rates and surgical safety after the tissue is transplanted back in the future.
