New Quick-Clot powder could save lives in severe trauma bleeding
NCT ID NCT05449834
First seen Jan 23, 2026 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study compares two treatments to help blood clot in severely injured trauma patients with major bleeding. One is a standard frozen blood product (cryoprecipitate) that takes time to thaw, and the other is a dry powder (fibrinogen concentrate) that can be given at the bedside quickly. The trial will enroll 850 adults from trauma centers in Australia and New Zealand to see which approach leads to more days alive and out of the hospital at 90 days.
