First seen Mar 30, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looked at whether transferring gut bacteria from healthy donors (via fecal microbiota transplantation) can help people with ulcerative colitis, a type of inflammatory bowel disease. 102 participants with mild-to-moderate disease received the treatment. The goal was to see if it could reduce inflammation and lead to remission without steroids, while also understanding how different donors affect results.
