Summary
This trial tests whether febuxostat, a drug that lowers uric acid, can slow the progression of chronic kidney disease and reduce thickening of the carotid artery wall. Adults with moderate-to-severe kidney disease and high uric acid levels will take febuxostat or standard care for 12 weeks.
