Can dads help stop childhood obesity before it starts?

NCT ID NCT04477577

Summary

This study tested whether actively involving fathers during pregnancy and their baby's first year could help prevent rapid weight gain and obesity in infants. Researchers enrolled 657 mother-father pairs from minority backgrounds and randomly assigned them to receive either standard medical care plus a special program to engage new dads, or just standard care plus safety information. The goal was to see if father involvement improves family health habits and reduces obesity risk early in a child's life.
