First seen Feb 09, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special low-calorie diet that mimics fasting, done for 5 days each month over 6 months, is safe and can improve blood flow to the brain. It includes 40 adults aged 45-65 who carry a gene (APOE4) that raises their risk for Alzheimer's. Participants are randomly assigned to either the fasting-mimicking diet or standard dietary guidance.
