New rapid test could slash ER wait times for chest pain patients
NCT ID NCT06845826
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a new, quick blood test done right in the emergency room to rule out heart attacks in people with chest pain. The goal is to see if this faster test can get patients discharged sooner compared to the usual lab test, which can take an hour or more. About 1,500 adults under 75 with chest pain will be randomly assigned to either the new rapid test or the standard approach. If successful, this could reduce ER crowding and improve patient experience.
