First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding a bone graft substitute (CERAMENT) during hip fracture surgery, plus an osteoporosis medication (zoledronic acid), can help new bone grow around the metal implant. 20 older adults with weak bones and hip fractures took part. The goal was to see if this approach could make the surgical repair stronger and prevent the implant from loosening over 6 months.
