New PET scan could spot hidden heart scarring in rare condition
NCT ID NCT07563660
First seen May 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study is testing a new imaging method called FAPI PET/CT to see if it can better detect scarring in the heart muscle of people with arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC), a rare inherited heart condition that can lead to dangerous heart rhythms and sudden cardiac death. Fifteen adults with ARVC will receive the special PET scan in addition to standard tests. Researchers will compare the new scan's findings with existing imaging and follow participants for 6 months to see if the scan helps predict future heart problems.
