Summary
This study tested a 12-week family-centered program to prevent type 2 diabetes in 47 children aged 9-12 who were overweight or had diabetes risk factors. The program was delivered at a YMCA, either in-person or with added mobile tools, to help families adopt healthier habits. The goal was to see if the approach was feasible and could improve weight and diet, with the hope of creating a scalable community program.
