Summary

The goal was to see if group education in a familiar community setting could improve blood sugar control over two years.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Family Model Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (behavioral intervention)
What this could lead to
If successful, this approach could offer an effective, community-based way to help Marshallese families better manage type 2 diabetes.
What could go wrong
This is a completed study, but results may not apply to other populations or settings. The intervention requires family participation, which may not be feasible for everyone.
