Anesthesia technique may affect eye pressure during kidney stone procedure

NCT ID NCT06684704

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026

Summary

This completed study looked at how two different anesthesia gas flows affect eye pressure and optic nerve during kidney stone surgery. Sixty adults having the procedure were randomly assigned to receive either minimal low-flow or high-flow anesthesia. Researchers measured eye pressure, optic nerve sheath diameter, and optic perfusion pressure to see which method might be safer for the eyes.
