First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 09, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study looks at whether expressing breastmilk during pregnancy (from week 28) is safe for women at high risk of preterm birth. About 250 pregnant women with conditions like preeclampsia or previous early births will be randomly assigned to express milk or not. Researchers will track how long until delivery, how much milk is available at birth, and analyze colostrum to see if early expression benefits newborns.
