Could tiny cell particles predict rectal cancer outcomes?

NCT ID NCT03874559

First seen May 09, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study is looking at tiny particles called exosomes in the blood of people with rectal cancer. The goal is to see if these particles can help predict how well a patient responds to chemotherapy and radiation before surgery. Researchers will compare exosome levels before, during, and after treatment with the actual tumor response seen during surgery. This is an observational study, not a treatment trial, and aims to improve future care.
