Can exercise fight steroid side effects for transplant patients?

NCT ID NCT05236062

Summary

This study is testing if a home-based exercise program can help patients who develop Graft-Versus-Host Disease (GVHD) after a stem cell transplant. The goal is to see if exercise can improve blood sugar control, body composition, fitness, and quality of life while patients are on strong steroid medications. About 36 participants will be randomly assigned to either a combined aerobic and strength training program or a simple stretching program for six months.
