First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study will test different exercise programs for adults aged 40 to 60 with chronic low back pain. Participants will be assigned to gym-based resistance training, physiotherapy exercises, or home-based routines, some with a special belt that gives feedback on core muscle activity. The goal is to see which approach best reduces pain and improves physical function over 8 weeks.

What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward effective exercise strategies to reduce pain and improve function in people with chronic low back pain.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial (120 participants) that has not yet started recruiting. Results may not apply to all back pain sufferers, and exercise programs require ongoing commitment.
