First seen Feb 11, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looks at whether moderate-to-vigorous aerobic exercise can speed up recovery from bipolar depression and help prevent future depressive episodes. Fifty-four adults with bipolar disorder and current depression will be randomly assigned to either supervised aerobic exercise, relaxation/stretching, or just information about exercise. The main goal is to see if the exercise group reports fewer depressive symptoms after six weeks.
