First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looks at whether high-intensity interval training or moderate continuous exercise can improve blood levels of a protein called irisin, reduce disease activity, and enhance function and quality of life in people with axial spondyloarthritis (a type of arthritis affecting the spine). About 75 sedentary adults with active disease will be randomly assigned to one of two exercise programs. The goal is to find which type of exercise works best for managing symptoms.
