Not a trial. This treatment can be requested outside a study, case by case, for people who qualify.
Expanded access (paused)
Not a trial. The treatment can normally be requested outside a study, but is unavailable right now.
Expanded access (ended)

Summary

Researchers at Shanghai General Hospital are studying whether exercise relates to visual function in people with glaucoma. About 100 patients aged 18 to 100 answer a questionnaire about their physical activity. The team then measures central visual field, retinal nerve fiber layer thickness in the macula and optic disc, and intraocular pressure to look for links between exercise habits and eye health.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
a questionnaire about exercise habits
What this could lead to
If exercise turns out to protect visual function, doctors could add physical activity advice to routine glaucoma care.
What could go wrong
This observational study can show a link between exercise and vision, not cause and effect. Any connection may reflect other differences between active and inactive patients.
