Summary
This study tests whether the drug etrasimod can prevent pouchitis, a common inflammation of the internal pouch created after colon removal surgery. Researchers will give either etrasimod or a placebo to 40 high-risk patients for 48 weeks and track how many develop pouchitis. The goal is to see if this medication can stop the condition from occurring in the first place.
