Could delaying food after cancer surgery help patients recover stronger?
NCT ID NCT03676478
Summary
This study tested whether waiting a few days to start feeding patients after esophageal cancer surgery, instead of feeding them right away, might help preserve their muscle strength and improve recovery. Researchers compared two groups of patients to see if delayed feeding led to better walking ability and fewer days in the hospital. The goal was to find the best nutritional plan to help patients regain strength and potentially live longer after this major operation.
