French registry sheds light on rare birth defect of the esophagus
NCT ID NCT02883725
First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026
Summary
This study set up a national registry in France to track babies born with esophageal atresia, a birth defect where the esophagus is not fully formed. Researchers collected data on about 1,460 newborns to understand how common the condition is, what other health issues may occur, and how babies fare during their first year of life. The goal was to gather information to improve care, not to test a new treatment.
